Siemens Government Technologies has secured a $107.4 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy for energy-related support services at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.
The Department of Defense said Monday the firm-fixed-price award was made against a third party financed contract and raises the total cumulative face value of the energy service performance contract to $936.3 million.
Work in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, is expected to be finished in April 2043.
Port Hueneme, California-located Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center serves as the contracting activity.
SGT built a liquefied natural gas energy efficient power plant at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay to help the Navy gain energy security for NSGB. The facility uses LNG to operate a new dual-fuel combined cycle power plant serving the installation. It is projected to reduce annual fuel consumption by approximately 27.4 percent.
In 2019, Siemens’ federal arm booked an $828.8 million Navy task order to build, operate, and maintain energy conservation systems at NSGB.
