Michael Hill has joined the Department of Defense as deputy chief information officer of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, according to his LinkedIn announcement.
He most recently served as director of Data Center Service Division at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Hill has nearly two decades of combined industry and government experience. He was with the Department of Justice as an assistant CIO for engineering and operations within its Civil Division before joining HUD.
Notably, the government official served at the Department of Veterans Affairs for seven years. Hill joined the VA in 2010 as a Windows security specialist and was appointed technical security chief in 2014.
Hill also completed a stint at the Library of Congress working as chief of the Operations and Maintenance Division, head of the Windows Systems Management Section and chief of the Server Division.
