Tony DeSimone has been appointed vice president of enterprise engineering at Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT).
DeSimone announced his new role on LinkedIn, saying that, in this new position, he will be responsible for leading E&T execution across the company’s four business areas as well as its enterprise operations.
A defense industry veteran with over two decades of professional experience, DeSimone previously served as E&T vice president at the rotary and mission systems business area of Lockheed.
On LinkedIn, DeSimone expressed gratitude to everyone he had worked with at RMS and expressed pride for their accomplishments.
Regarding his new position, DeSimone said, “I am excited and honored to have this enterprise-wide opportunity, deliver on our program commitments and support our continuing transition to a model-based enterprise.”
The new enterprise engineering VP holds a doctorate degree in theoretical physics from Drexel University and a Master of Business Administration degree from William and Mary University.
He is also the recipient of multiple accolades from Lockheed as well as the government, including the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense Pathfinder Award from the Missile Defense Agency.
