Chugach Government Solutions Names Dirk van der Vaart as President, Michael Iacobucci as SVP, Chief Growth Officer

Chugach Government Solutions has appointed Dirk van der Vaart, a more than 25-year defense and security industry executive, as president and Michael Iacobucci, a more than 15-year government contracting industry veteran, as senior vice president and chief growth officer.

The company said Wednesday van der Vaart will also serve as executive VP of Chugach Alaska Corp.’s government division.

Principal Organizational Leader

According to CGS, van der Vaart will serve as the key organizational leader responsible for planning and establishing policies and objectives that promote innovation and strategic growth for the company.

He succeeds Chugach Alaska CEO Jonathan Dalrymple, who has served as interim president of CGS since March following the departure of Scott Davis.

Van der Vaart is a strategist, business development leader and executive coach who most recently served as head of the North America government and defense business of a U.K.-based startup focused on developing IT networking technologies.

His industry career included senior leadership positions at Ultra Intelligence & Communications, GardaWorld Government Services, Gatekeeper Security, GLOBAL Integrated Security and Raytheon’s global security solutions unit.

Prior to his move to the defense industry, he was a special operations officer within the Intelligence Community and a port security officer within the Coast Guard Reserve.

Driving Strategic Growth

Iacobucci, a 22-year U.S. Army veteran, will oversee efforts to identify, establish and execute strategies to boost revenue, expand market share and improve competitive positioning in his new role as SVP and CGO at CGS.

He brings to Chugach his experience in driving organizational growth, business development and strategy.

Iacobucci most recently served as president of aviation and defense company Profense.

Prior to Profense, he was with General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), where he served as business development senior director for the ordinance and tactical systems business and SOCOM account manager for the C4 systems segment.
