The U.S. Navy has awarded L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) a potential five-year, $998.8 million contract to develop, produce, sustain and retrofit Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio Systems terminals.
The Department of Defense said Monday Naval Information Warfare System Command received three offers for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract and will obligate $123 million on the first delivery order.
The IDIQ contract will cover the update and sustainment of Concurrent Multi-Netting-4, F-22 and Tactical Targeting Network Technology variants of MIDS JTRS terminals.
According to DOD, the contract combines purchases for the U.S. Air Force, Navy, MIDS Program Office and NATO member countries under the foreign military sales program.
L3Harris will perform work in Utah and California through June 2029.
Data Link Solutions – a joint venture of BAE Systems and RTX (NYSE: RTX) subsidiary Collins Aerospace – also secured a Navy contract to build, retrofit and sustain MIDS JTRS terminals.
