GE Books $1.1B Army Contract for T700 Turbine Engines

The U.S. Army has awarded General Electric (NYSE: GE) a potential five-year, $1.13 billion contract to provide T700 series turbine engines for the service branch.

The Department of Defense said Wednesday Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama is the contracting activity and received one offer for the firm-fixed-price contract through an internet solicitation.

The military branch will obligate funds and determine work locations upon award of each task order.

Contract work is expected to conclude on June 13, 2029.

The GE Aerospace-built T700 turboshaft engine is designed to power several aircraft, including Sikorsky’s H-60 Black Hawk and Boeing’s AH-64 Longbow Apache helicopters. The fully modular engine comes with advanced technological updates and could support a portfolio of fixed-wing and rotorcraft applications.
