Potomac Officers Club’s yearly Air Force Summit is an essential destination for government contractors who want to know about the Department of the Air Force’s top technology priorities and modernization goals. And who better to deliver that valuable information than the service’s chief information officer, Venice Goodwine.
Goodwine’s DAF duties
Goodwine is in charge of the $17 billion cyber portfolio of the DAF and oversees three information technology directorates. At the summit, she will deliver a morning keynote address that will touch on the Air Force’s IT investment plan, which includes cloud computing, data management and information assurance. How she plans to allocate her budget should be of utmost interest to the primarily GovCon audience.
The 2024 Air Force Summit is coming up fast: it’s set for July 23 at the Hilton McLean in Virginia. Save your spot now, before tickets sell out.
Military career and recognitions
Beginning as a signals intelligence analyst in the Air Force and transitioning to the Air Force Reserve nearly two decades later (and finally retiring from uniformed military service almost two decades after that), Goodwine has received a number of distinctions. These include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air and Space Commendation Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, among several others.
Additionally, she received her first Wash100 Award this year, a widely venerated honor in the GovCon space that looks ahead to who will shape the industry in the near future. Her highly successful predecessor in her current role, Lauren Knausenberger, who is now chief innovation officer at SAIC, was also a Wash100 recipient.
Get excited for the Air Force Summit
Goodwine is deeply committed to ensuring the ethical usage of artificial intelligence, another key part of her strategy. Look for her to address this in her remarks, and for more AI talk during a panel discussion on how AI and machine learning can boost decision advantage within the service.
Not only will Goodwine take the stage, the event is also hosting notable officials like Under Secretary of the Air Force Melissa Dalton; Special Assistant to the SecAF for Mission-Centered Analysis and Operational Imperatives Dr. Timothy Grayson; and many more!
Don’t miss out on conversations about how to harness technology and science for force readiness in multi-domain operations. Register today for the 2024 Air Force Summit, from Potomac Officers Club.
