Aerospace Corp. Adds Retired USSF General David Thompson to Board of Trustees

David Thompson, a retired U.S. Space Force general, has been elected to the board of trustees of The Aerospace Corp.

In this capacity, he will share insights and provide guidance for Aerospace’s activities, particularly those related to the space enterprise, the nonprofit corporation said Thursday.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Gen. Thompson to our board. His extensive leadership, breadth and depth of expertise in military space operations, policy and strategy will be invaluable as we further Aerospace’s role as the nation’s trusted partner,” said Steve Isakowitz, president and CEO of Aerospace.

Thompson most recently served as the Space Force’s vice chief of space operations.

His 38 years of active duty service included key leadership positions at U.S. Strategic Command and Air Force Space Command and assignments in acquisition, operations, academia and research and development. He is an Olmsted Scholar and a Level III-certified program manager who led operational space units at the squadron, group and wing levels.
