Valkyrie Enterprises Buys Corrosion-Inhibiting Products Provider Ship to Shore, Makes Leadership Appointments

Valkyrie Enterprises has acquired Ship to Shore in a transaction that expands its corrosion-inhibiting products and remediation support services for the Department of Defense and other national security customers and industrial sectors.

Virginia-based Valkyrie said Wednesday the corrosion-inhibiting products and related capabilities of S2S will be part of the company’s sustainment and modernization business unit.

“Corrosion prevention is a significant, ongoing priority of the Department of Defense and Valkyrie can now better assist its customers in reducing the $20 billion spent annually on corrosion,” said Tom Campbell, chairman of Valkyrie Enterprises and founder and managing partner of DC Capital Partners.

New Valkyrie appointments

In line with the acquisition, Valkyrie appointed S2S Co-Founders Erik Bergvinson and Mary-Ellen Bergvinson as vice president and assistant VP, respectively, of the Valkyrie Enterprises-Ship 2 Shore business area.

Erik will oversee business development initiatives, while Mary-Ellen will manage administrative and marketing support for the business area.

Valkyrie named Steve Williamson, a 31-year U.S. Navy veteran, as VP of Valkyrie Enterprises-S2S.

“Steve’s experience will guide our new corrosion division and existing product lines to a higher level,” said Valkyrie President and CEO Dave Streett.

Williamson is a Project Management Professional and former deputy commander for industrial operations at Naval Sea Systems Command. His naval career included time holding project management roles at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and serving as a surface warfare officer.
