Patrick de Castelbajac, a more than 25-year aerospace industry veteran, will take on the role of chief strategy officer at GE Aerospace (NYSE: GE) on June 24.
He will directly report to GE Aerospace Chairman and CEO Lawrence Culp and oversee the company’s enterprise strategic planning to advance long-term growth, the company said Tuesday.
“With his deep experience in enterprise-wide planning and execution, he will shape our investment in technology to enable the future of flight, and unlock new opportunities to drive focused, disciplined growth,” Culp said of de Castelbajac.
De Castelbajac previously served as CEO of Nordic Aviation Capital.
His industry career included time as executive vice president of strategy and international and president of Asia-Pacific at Airbus and CEO of ATR Aircraft, the turboprop joint venture of Airbus and Leonardo.
The latest appointment came a month after GE Aerospace started trading on the New York Stock Exchange as an independent public company.
