After our closest, most exciting Wash100 popular vote race yet, the GovCon community has chosen its champion: Judi Dotson, president of the global defense sector at Booz Allen Hamilton.
Dotson received her second consecutive Wash100 Award this year in recognition of her continued leadership in digital transformation initiatives across the defense, civilian and intelligence sectors.
Each year, the top 100 most influential and consequential executives working in the federal government and the government contracting industry are chosen to the prestigious Wash100 list. These outstanding individuals are recognized for their leadership, vision, innovation, achievements and reliability, and they are named to the Wash100 list for their anticipated ability to positively impact the GovCon sector in the year ahead.
But the Wash100 season isn’t over once the winners are announced! From January to April every year, Executive Mosaic hosts a popular vote competition, allowing the GovCon community to make their voices heard and select their favorite Wash100 winner.
This year, the popular vote race saw the highest participation on record in the Wash100 Award’s 11-year history with more than 60,000 total votes. And Dotson broke Wash100 records this season as the first awardee ever to receive more than 1,000 votes.
“Judi’s record-shattering support from the GovCon executive landscape speaks not only to her popularity in our sector, but also to her ability to effect change and deliver positive impact within the public sector ecosystem,” said Executive Mosaic CEO and Wash100 Award Founder Jim Garrettson. “With this historic popular vote competition season, Judi has certainly cemented her legacy and her reputation as a GovCon leader, influencer and innovator. We congratulate Judi on her win, and we look forward to seeing the impact of her work continue to ripple across Booz Allen and the broader GovCon community.”
After Dotson broke the 1,000-vote threshold, her other popular vote competitors followed suit. In fact, every executive in the top 10 this year received more than 1,000 votes! AT&T’s Jill Singer soared to second place in the final hours of the competition, and Google Public Sector’s Karen Dahut secured third place. A notable mention in this year’s popular vote race goes to Susan Wedge of IBM Consulting, who held onto the number one spot for six weeks and who finished the competition in eighth place.
The top 10 also includes Craig Abod of Carahsoft, Dotson’s fellow Booz Allen executive Steve Escaravage, Gen. CQ Brown of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Oracle’s Kim Lynch, the Pentagon’s Kathleen Hicks and the Defense Health Agency’s Lt. Gen. Telita Crosland.
As a popular vote winner, Dotson joins the ranks of previous Wash100 popular vote champions such as Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, former Air Force CIO and current SAIC executive Lauren Knausenberger and Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence Dr. Stacey Dixon.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Judi Dotson and Booz Allen on their historic Wash100 win! We also thank the GovCon community for their unprecedented and unwavering support in this year’s exciting popular vote race.
