Norm Laudermilch, former chief operating officer at BigBear.ai (NYSE: BBAI), has joined Maxar Technologies (NYSE: MAXR) to serve as chief information security officer of the Westminster, Colorado-headquartered space technology company, he announced via LinkedIn.
According to him, he will be responsible for all aspects of Maxar’s cybersecurity, including monitoring and securing the company’s attack surface, ensuring that on-orbit and mission systems are secure and upholding the integrity of geospatial insights delivered to customers.
“I’ve worked for a dozen or so companies in my 30-plus year career, and Maxar is unlike any of them. Through the geospatial insights they provide… [They are] helping governments make tough decisions, monitoring critical climate change trends [and] making our nation more secure,” remarked Laudermilch.
The new CISO brings to Maxar experience in serving as chief technology officer and chief cyber officer at LookingGlass Cyber Solutions. He also held other C-level positions at several companies through his three-decade career. At BigBear, he had oversight of the company’s day-to-day operations.
