General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) information technology division will help U.S. Central Command modernize its enterprise IT infrastructure under a potential six-year, $922 million contract.
The company said Thursday it will use artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to operationalize CENTCOM’s enterprise data to inform decision-making processes, facilitate the command’s transition to a new cloud environment and help improve network capability across the enterprise.
“Technological innovation is critical to promoting stability and protecting our national security interests in this strategically important region,” said Brian Sheridan, senior vice president for the defense division at GDIT.
CENTCOM requires a data-connected enterprise IT network environment to enhance operational readiness throughout its area of responsibility.
The contract has a base period of performance of one year and options to extend work for another five years.
