Dan Smith, formerly senior vice president of the federal sector at ZeroFox, has been appointed VP and general manager of the homeland security sector at General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) information technology business unit, according to his LinkedIn post.
In his new role at General Dynamics Information Technology, Smith will partner with teams across the enterprise to develop technologies designed to counter emerging threats against the economy, border security and cyberspace.
“GDIT brings the Art of the Possible to our customers through Digital Accelerators in AI, Cyber, Cloud, 5G, Post-Quantum Cryptography, and our Software Factory,” Smith said.
Before joining GDIT, Smith oversaw business and growth strategies for the public sector business at ZeroFox, which he joined through its acquisition of LookingGlass Cyber Solutions. He served as president of the federal operations at LookingGlass.
His industry career includes time as VP of strategic initiatives at ManTech, VP of technology at Govplace and senior manager of solution consulting and engineering at UNICOM Government.
