The coveted Wash100 Award celebrates the top 100 executives of consequence across the public and private sectors each year. Executives chosen to the list not only have proven track records of success throughout their careers, they also demonstrate great potential to impact the GovCon sector in the coming year and beyond through qualities such as leadership, vision, innovation and reliability.
“Since taking the reins of Google’s public sector business in 2022, Karen has continued to be exactly the bold, ambitious, disruptive leader the company needs to guide it and its government customers through this era of rapid AI advancements, cloud development and transformative IT innovation,” said Executive Mosaic CEO and Wash100 founder Jim Garrettson.
“Karen’s keen ability to understand and impact the vast GovCon IT and tech landscapes are what make her not only an apt leader for one of the market’s biggest players, but also an obvious selection to our Wash100 list as well,” Garrettson added.
Dahut was tapped to lead the newly established public sector arm of Google in 2022. Her 2023 Wash100 win recognized her work leading cloud platform innovation efforts within the organization and for Google’s government customers. This year, Dahut has focused on increasing collaboration with other major companies in the GovCon market.
Most recently, Google teamed up with ManTech to open a new Google Workplace Practice aimed at sharing best practices for driving the adoption of secure workplace productivity and artificial intelligence in the GovCon ecosystem.
“ManTech’s innovative Google Workspace Practice embodies the transformative power of collaboration and cloud solutions for government agencies. We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with ManTech in driving secure, innovative and efficient workplaces for the U.S. government,” said Dahut of the partnership.
In October 2023, Google established a new Cybersecurity Center of Excellence with Accenture Federal Services. The center employs Mandiant’s Threat Intelligence platform in tandem with Accenture’s cybersecurity capabilities to help government agencies better respond to cyberattacks and threats.
“The combination of Mandiant threat intelligence and Google Cloud’s AI-powered security tools can help federal agencies stay ahead of sophisticated cyber attacks and protect their most sensitive data,” Dahut commented. “Our expanded alliance with Accenture Federal Services will provide the technology and professional expertise that agencies need to mitigate vulnerabilities and quickly respond to threats and breaches.”
Dahut also led efforts to build up Google Public Sector’s executive leadership team through the creation of a board of directors. Among the board members are Dahut herself, Google Public Sector CTO Will Granis, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, Mandiant CEO Kevin Mandia, Kent Walker, Dave Goldfein, Steve Bullock, Dawn Meyerriecks, Tony Thomas, Nadja West and Heather Wilson.
Executive Mosaic extends its deepest congratulations to Karen Dahut and the Google Public Sector team on their inclusion in this year’s Wash100 list.
