The U.S. Army made a $754 million contract modification to purchase armored multipurpose vehicles from BAE Systems’ land and armaments subsidiary.
The Department of Defense said Wednesday the branch extended the project’s completion date until February 2027 and obligated the full contract modification amount from the Army’s fiscal 2023 and 2024Â weapons and tracked combat vehicle procurement funds.
BAE originally won the contract in March 2023 and was expected to complete the project this December for a budget of $245.6 million. The company will continue working on the order at its facility in York, Pennsylvania.
The contracting activity is the Army Contracting Command, Detroit Arsenal in Michigan.
