Amentum Secures $245M Navy Task Order for Microelectronics Facility R&D Support; Jill Bruning Quoted

Amentum will support the U.S. Navy by providing research and development, systems engineering, testing, analysis and technology maturation and insertion support to help assess and improve microelectronics laboratories and facilities under a potential five-year, $245 million task order.

The company said Monday the task order awarded by the U.S. Air Force will specifically support the Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs and the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Strategic Microelectronics Division.

“Amentum will leverage our digital engineering ecosystem and model-based system engineering expertise to enhance capabilities for strategic radiation hardened microelectronics,” said Jill Bruning, president of engineering, science and technology group at Amentum and a previous Wash100 awardee.

The task order also covers upgrade support for microelectronics test and evaluation labs and facilities and services for capabilities related to the Navy’s fleet ballistic missile and strategic weapons systems and the Department of Defense’s strategic weapons platforms that use critical microelectronics technologies.

The company will also help the Navy increase its test surge and prototyping capacity and provide subject matter expertise.
