Mike Smith, a 30-year veteran of DCS, has been named executive vice president and manager of the Army and Marine Corps sector at the Alexandria, Virginia-based professional services firm focused on providing engineering and technical support for the Department of Defense and other national security agencies.
DCS CEO Jim Benbow said in a statement published Tuesday Smith brings to the role his agile decision-making and knowledge of the defense industry and his operational and technical experience will be key as the company works to drive performance and deliver value to clients.
Smith has nearly three decades of management and engineering experience in support of Army Combat Capabilities Development Command’s Ground Vehicle Systems Center at Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan.
He served as a division manager at DCS, where he led the expansion of the employee-owned company’s manufacturing facility in Littleton, Massachusetts, to support the development of ground vehicle prototype assemblies, harnesses and cables.
He spent eight years as a cryptographic technician for tactical communications systems within the Air National Guard.
