The State Department approved a proposed sale of 155mm M107 hollow forged steel artillery projectiles and related equipment to the government of Israel for an estimated $147.5 million.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday it notified Congress of the deal, which amends a previous order of 4,792 rounds of ammunition valued at $96.5 million.
The agreement is for 155mm fuzes, primers, 4,792 rounds of M795 155mm artillery ammunition and M4 propelling charges. The U.S. government will also provide logistics support, publications and relevant technical documentation.
The weapons will be sourced from the U.S. Army’s stock. DSCA does not expect any additional U.S. government or private contractor to be deployed to Israel as part of the deal.
