General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) NASSCO subsidiary will continue working on the maintenance, modernization and repair of USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) and USS James E. Williams (DDG 95) under a $438.5 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy.
The award is for the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers’ fiscal 2024 Depot Maintenance Period availabilities and work at Norfolk, Virginia; and San Diego, California, will run through April 2024, the Department of Defense said.
General Dynamics NASSCO will support the Chief of Naval Operations Availabilities for critical modernization, maintenance and repair programs by providing all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, production, testing, facilities and quality assurance requirements.
The contract has a potential value of $864.1 million and a performance period of until November 2030 if options are exercised.
The Navy will obligate $185.9 million from its fiscal 2023 and 2024 funding at the time of award.
Naval Sea Systems Command serves as the contracting activity.
