Boeing (NYSE: BA) has secured a $102.7 million contract modification to help the U.S. Navy modernize the anti-submarine warfare capabilities of its P-8A maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft fleet.
The company will produce and deliver 10 P-8A Increment 3 retrofit A-kits and three retrofit kit A-kit installs to the service branch under the modification awarded against a previously issued basic ordering agreement, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
Nearly 80 percent of work will occur in Jacksonville, Florida, and the rest will take place in St. Louis, Missouri, and Mesa, Arizona, through November 2026.
Naval Air Systems Command will fund the modification using the service branch’s fiscal 2024 aircraft procurement allocation.
The P-8A aircraft is designed to support anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and search and rescue missions.
