American Systems has chosen its Account Management Director Babak Nouri to replace John Steckel as vice president of corporate development.
Nouri’s new leadership responsibilities will include mergers and acquisitions, legislative affairs and other business development areas, the company said Monday.
Before joining American Systems in 2018, he was director of enterprise capture management at Perspecta. He was also a business development VP at defense and space manufacturing firm ESP, now a part of Sev1Tech.
Nouri was employed at L-3 Communications as business development director prior to its transformation into L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX).
“After conducting a thorough search of internal and external candidates, Babak was a natural choice to fill this position,” remarked Steckel, who was appointed as president and CEO in September. “I have no doubt that his deep knowledge of the government contracting market and 20-plus years of experience will pay dividends as we continue to grow the size and scope of new business wins.”
