Sikich, a provider of technology and professional services to the government sector, has agreed to acquire the federal government practice of accountancy firm CLA in a transaction aimed at expanding the former’s presence in the Washington, D.C. market.
CLA’s federal government practice offers audit, accounting and assurance services to help public sector customers utilize financial and business to make informed decisions, Sikich said Thursday.
More than 70 employees from the practice, including four principals, will join Sikich’s D.C. office upon the expected completion of the transaction on Dec. 31.
Through the transaction, Sikich will gain access to CLA’s federal customer base, which includes the Department of Transportation, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Defense Commissary Agency.
“The addition of CLA’s federal government practice allows us to continue this growth trajectory, adding to our bench of experts, enhancing our market-leading capabilities for federal clients, and providing new opportunities to work with major government entities,” said Steven Koons, Washington, D.C. market expansion and federal government services leader at Sikich.
The deal marks Sikich’s latest expansion in the D.C. area following its acquisition of public accounting firm Halt, Buzas & Powell and professional services provider Cotton & Company.
