Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command has issued a request for proposals for a potential eight-year, $1 billion contract to provide construction support services for design-build or design-bid-build infrastructure projects across various locations within the state of Hawaii and Wake Island.
The proposed multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is a total small business set-aside program and has a five-year base term and an option period of three years, according to a solicitation notice published Dec. 20.
The service branch anticipates awarding approximately eight contracts under the acquisition vehicle.
Infrastructure projects may include the construction of residential buildings, industrial buildings and warehouses, improvements to utilities, airfields and roadways and dredging and waterfront work on piers, caissons, wharves and dry docks.
The customers include the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and federal agencies.
To support design-build work, the contractor should employ the services of an architect-engineering firm with experience in coordinating multi-disciplined architectural or engineering design efforts across all aspects of general building and new and renovation projects.
Responses to the RFP are due Jan. 19.
