Maxar Intelligence sold RF Solutions to HawkEye 360 in a bid for the latter to gain two radio frequency satellites and a global database ranging from 1.4 GHz to 40 GHz.
HawkEye said Monday that it will have a total of 23 satellites as a result of the acquisition of RF Solutions, formerly Aurora Insight.
The transaction allows HawkEye to reach 26 to 40 GHz frequency coverage, and gives it access to RF scanning intellectual property. The company aims to keep abreast of the rising demand for RF intelligence by deploying 12 more satellites in 2024 alone.
“This technology from the former Aurora Insight team will allow HawkEye 360 to quickly scan gigahertz of bandwidth to efficiently map active frequencies at a regional level,” said HawkEye 360 President Rob Rainhart. “We look forward to rapidly integrating these powerful capabilities and talented personnel into the company to further accelerate the value we bring to our clients.”
