The Department of Energy has issued a draft request for proposals for a small business set-aside contract to provide technical support services to a project office overseeing cleanup efforts at the gaseous diffusion plant sites in Ohio and Kentucky.
DOE said Thursday it will select a small business vendor to help manage hazardous waste material cleanup, deactivation and decommissioning and on-site contractor operations at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant and the Paducah GDP.
The selected contractor will help the Portsmouth Paducah Project Office in Lexington, Kentucky, provide technical engineering, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, safeguards and security oversight and general administrative support for all PPPO sites.
Enterprise Technical Assistance Services provides technical support services to the PPPO under a potential $97.1 million contract awarded in August 2023.
In May 2022, DOE launched a full and open competition for a potential 10-year, $2.9 billion contract to consolidate cleanup efforts at the two uranium enrichment sites.
