NASA has issued a draft request for proposals for the third iteration of the Safety and Mission Assurance Services contract.
The agency’s Goddard Space Flight Center plans to award SMAS III as a single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with an ordering period of five years and an option period of up to six months to extend services, according to a SAM.gov notice published Monday.
Under the IDIQ contract, the vendor will also provide services for independent surveillance, review, audit and assessment of design, development, test and mission operations activities in support of the Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate.
In October, NASA disclosed plans to release a solicitation for the SMAS III contract.
The space agency will hold an industry day on Dec. 1 and intends to issue the final RFP by January 2024 and award the contract by September 2024.
Comments on the draft solicitation are due within 21 calendar days.
