Frontgrade Technologies, a provider of analog and radiation hardened technologies for aerospace and defense customers, has promoted Tommy Reed to the position of vice president.
Reed, formerly the senior director of strategy and integrated solutions, said on LinkedIn that he was also appointed acting chief technology officer at the portfolio company of Veritas Capital.
Before joining Frontgrade, Reed was part of L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX), where he held the positions of senior principal for technology strategy at the office of the CTO; director of strategy for space systems; and, most recently, director of the company’s microelectronics business area.
Reed’s other prior employers include Bliley Technologies, GE (NYSE: GE) and Harris Corporation, prior to its merger with L3 Technologies in 2019.
The Frontgrade VP also co-founded 7decibels, which developed a sound amplifier for the iPad.
Regarding his latest appointment, Reed said, “I’m humbled by the opportunity to lead this great technical team and am excited for what lies ahead.”
