The State Department has approved a potential $500 million foreign military sale of an extended-range version of the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile system and related equipment to the government of Finland.
Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) will serve as the principal contractor of the proposed FMS deal that includes 150 AGM-88G AARGM-ERs, dummy air training missiles, containers, software, support equipment and spare and repair parts, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Monday.
Finland also requested technical documentation and publications as well as transportation, logistics, engineering and training support services.
DSCA said Finland will use the extended-range air defense system to strengthen its defense capabilities and boost interoperability with the U.S. and allied forces.
The proposed transaction will not require assigning additional government or contractor representatives to the European country.
