Lockheed Secures $364M Navy Contract to Deliver MH-60R Helicopters to Norway

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has secured a $364.3 million contract from the U.S. Navy to manufacture and deliver six MH-60R Seahawk helicopters to the Norwegian government.

The Sikorsky-built aircraft will help Norway conduct search and rescue missions, perform coastal and offshore patrolling and support other maritime activities, Lockheed said Thursday.

According to the Department of Defense, the contract was awarded under a previously issued basic ordering agreement between Lockheed and the Navy.

Norway is the latest foreign military sales customer to order the multimission helicopter. In early October, Lockheed secured a $379 million contract to produce eight Seahawk helicopters for the Armada, Spain’s naval force.

Sikorsky also produces MH-60R aircraft for the governments of India, Greece, South Korea, Australia and Spain.
