Lockheed Secures $1.2B Navy Contract Modification for Trident II Missile Production

Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) space business segment has secured a $1.2 billion contract modification to manufacture submarine-launched ballistic missiles for the U.S. Navy and a foreign military sales customer.

The modification covers the production of Trident II D5 ballistic missiles and the provision of deployed systems support services for the U.S. and U.K. navies, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Work will occur in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Utah, Washington and other locations through Sept. 30, 2028.

In March, Lockheed Martin Space secured a potential $474.2 million sole-source contract modification to extend Trident II D5 missile production for the Navy and its U.K. counterpart.

Launched in 1990, the Trident II D5 is an intercontinental-range ballistic missile currently aboard the Navy’s Ohio-class and British Vanguard-class submarines.
