James McConville, former chief of staff of the U.S. Army, has been appointed to the board of directors at unmanned aircraft vehicle manufacturer Edge Autonomy.
The retired Army general brings four decades of military experience to the company and will guide it in developing and delivering autonomous, optical and power systems to government and commercial customers, Edge Autonomy said Thursday.
“We are thrilled to welcome him on board and look forward to his unique perspective and strategic acumen,” said John Purvis, CEO of Edge Autonomy.
McConville served as Army chief of staff from 2019 until his retirement from military service in August 2023.
His military career includes time as executive officer to the vice chief of staff of the Army, strategic planner for Special Operations Command and commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division.
