ECS Federal has secured a potential $190.2 million contract from the U.S. Army for the development and demonstration of artificial intelligence capabilities.
According to an award notice posted on SAM.gov, the broad agency announcement for the Project “Runaway” has an initial value of $65.7 million that has the potential to reach the ceiling amount if all options are exercised.
ECS Federal will work to provide new AI mobility and agility across multiple critical Department of Defense AI domains at the field level. It will also perform AI capability experimentation in addition to development and demonstration efforts.
The DOD said the contractor will conduct work at its Fairfax, Virginia, location through Sept. 28, 2026.
Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland-based Army Contracting Command is the contracting activity. It used the fiscal 2023 research, development, test and evaluation funds to obligate $6.9 million at the time of the award.
