Mansour “Manny” Yusuf, chief cloud/edge architect at Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL), said government agencies that intend to mitigate security risks and better manage costs should maintain visibility into their information technology operations by adopting a capability that could enable them to pay for infrastructure and cloud services based on utilization.
In an article published on Carahsoft.com, Yusuf wrote how capabilities like Dell APEX Flex on Demand could help agencies update their IT infrastructure in compliance with new security mandates and requirements without having to shift their cost model.
“Agencies might need to achieve a specific return on investment, meet certain efficiencies or comply with unique mission requirements,” he said.
“Regardless of the goal, a simplified cost model provides a comprehensive understanding of what it costs the agency to run workloads on premises, at the edge or in any cloud location,” he added.
Yusuf discussed how Dell APEX could help agencies maintain visibility into their IT operations and expenses as they continuously deploy new capabilities.
“The ability to plan for expenses and pay only for what they use gives agencies a greater sense of control over their IT operations,” he wrote.
