David Appel, formerly vice president of national security at Amazon Web Services, has been appointed VP of U.S. federal at the Seattle, Washington-headquartered cloud computing company, G2xchange Defense reported Sunday.
Appel helps drive the development of artificial intelligence and modern software tools to support decision-making in the military and government sectors.
Before joining AWS in June 2022, Appel spent nearly three decades at Raytheon, most recently serving as VP of command and control digital solutions within the intelligence and space business unit.
He also held senior director roles overseeing mission support and modernization programs for domestic and international defense and federal customers.
