State Department Clears Saudi Arabia’s $500M Logistics Supply Support FMSO II Request

The State Department has approved Saudi Arabia’s request to procure combat vehicle fleet services from the U.S. government for $500 million as part of a Cooperative Logistics Supply Support Arrangement program, Foreign Military Sales Order II.

The potential deal covers the provision of common spares and repair parts for the Saudi Arabian army’s fleet of combat vehicles, including the Abrams main battle tank and Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.

Other inclusions in the sales package are components and accessories, weapons, night vision devices, TOW launchers and missile parts, radar sets, communication equipment, logistics and program support services.

DCSA noted that the potential transaction would enable the Saudi Arabian army to purchase spare and repair parts to replenish in-country stocks necessary to support equipment maintenance and sustainment.
