Palantir Technologies (NYSE: PLTR) has received a $250 million contract from the U.S. Army to research and develop artificial intelligence and machine learning tools for U.S. military applications.
Army Contracting Command is the contracting activity and will determine work locations and budget upon the issuance of each contract order, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
DOD expects work to conclude on Sept. 25, 2026.
In July 2022, Palantir received a two-year, $99.9 million contract to help the Army Research Laboratory implement data and AI capabilities to support DOD’s combatant commands.
The software company also secured a $299 million contract extension in September 2022 to continue working with the laboratory on AI and machine learning experimentation and implementation.
