The General Services Administration has asked vendors to share their pricing and invoicing practices for software offered in term licenses as the agency looks to align commercial cloud buying practices with the Multiple Award Schedule’s information technology category.
GSA’s IT category office is conducting market research on discounts the business sector offers for upfront annual payments on software-as-a-service platforms, according to a notice posted Tuesday on the agency’s Interact site.
The request for information notice applies to SaaS offerings under the MAS IT program, including special item numbers for cloud computing and cloud-related IT professional services and software licenses.
Infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and professional services associated with SaaS are not covered by the market research.
