Former DARPA Program Manager Gary Sauer Joins Eqlipse as Business Development VP

Gary Sauer, a former program manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, has been named vice president of business development for advanced research and development at Eqlipse Technologies.

He will lead the expansion and transition of Eqlipse’s R&D capabilities to operational programs that support defense and intelligence community customers, the company said Tuesday.

The business sector under Sauer is headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, and is focused on disciplines such as photonics, biological and nanoscale technologies, electronics and materials science.

Sauer worked at DARPA from 1998 to 2005, according to his LinkedIn profile. He managed the agency’s information and simulation technology programs, led its office of management operations as director and coordinated tech transfer initiatives as special assistant to the agency director.

Most recently, he was chief growth officer at FWG Solutions. His industry experience also included business development roles at Cubic Mission Solutions, Electro Optical Industries, SRC and BAE Systems.

He led training, administration, personnel and project management functions during his 22 years of U.S. Army service.

Eqlipse operates as a portfolio company of private equity firm Arlington Capital Partners and offers cybersecurity-related engineering services to the national security sector.
