Meet the keynotes:
Paul Courtney is the chief procurement officer for DHS, and in this role, he is responsible for the management direction of the agencyâs acquisition system and the implementation of acquisition policies, regulations and standards. Courtney oversees ten heads of contracting activity who work to provide operational procurement services to DHS components. He recently discussed how robotic process automation is being deployed within DHS to streamline internal operations.
Jody Hardin serves as the executive director for planning, program analysis and evaluation for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. In this capacity, Hardin is responsible for strategy development, business transformation and operational analysis efforts at all ports of entry, and she also oversees innovation initiatives within the Office of Field Operations. Hardin leads the technology testing for land border biometrics and non-intrusive inspection. Throughout her time at CBP, Hardin has played a key role in advancing the agencyâs facial biometrics efforts.
Sanjeev âSonnyâ Bhagowalia (pending approval) is the chief information officer for CBP and the assistant commissioner for CBPâs Office of Information and Technology. As such, Bhagowaliaâs scope includes executing CBPâs new information technology strategy, overseeing a budget of $1.8 billion and leading a staff of more than 2,200 federal employees and 3,900 contractors in support of CBP’s mission.
