Dennis Carr, former executive vice president and chief operating officer of Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, has assumed the president and CEO roles at the Fluor-led (NYSE: FLR) management and operating contractor for the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site in South Carolina, Defense Daily reported Tuesday.
He succeeds Stuart MacVean, who retired after leading SRNS for nearly seven years, and brings to his new position four decades of nuclear industry and environmental project experience.
Carr, a Fluor vice president, previously was site project director for the company’s joint venture with BWX Technologies (NYSE: BWXT) that oversees DOE’s Portsmouth Site in Ohio.
In July, Honeywell (Nasdaq: HON) sold its minority interest in SRNS to Fluor and HII (NYSE: HII).
