CAE USA has won a 20-month other transaction agreement from the U.S. Army to complete the development of a virtual training system designed to help soldiers hone their weapon skills, perform joint fires and use force in missions.
The phase two award for Soldier Virtual Trainer prototyping work comes after the service branch engaged with vendors and assessed their offerings for the program over a two-year sourcing process, CAE said Monday.
In June 2022, the company secured a $2.9 million OTA to participate in the Synthetic Training Environment SVT development effort.
CAE’s defense and security business worked with 4C Strategies, FAAC, Haptech, Serious Simulations and Odyssey Arm in the project’s first stage.
The next phase will center on finalizing the prototype composed of SVT’s core computing, weapons skills development and intelligent tutoring applications.
