Andrew Brown, a software industry veteran with almost three decades of experience, was appointed senior vice president and chief revenue officer of Red Hat, where he will take over Larry Stack starting Oct. 1.
The Raleigh, North Carolina-based software company said Thursday Brown will develop global go-to-market strategy for the company and have oversight of its consulting services and sales in commercial and public sectors.
He will draw from his most recent experience working as general manager of IBM‘s (NYSE: IBM) technology arm in the U.K. and Ireland and driving its operations, sales and services delivery.
Commenting on Brown’s appointment, Red Hat President and CEO Matt Hicks said the executive will help the company combine its product vision and sales approach to drive global hybrid cloud transformation.
Brown will work with Stack to ensure a smooth leadership transition– after which the latter will move to IBM as a senior adviser within its global government team.
