ACI Payments, Link2Gov Win IRS ePayment Card Service Contracts

ACI Payments and Link2Gov Corp. have won contracts worth $2.07 billion combined to deploy electronic payment systems for the Internal Revenue Service.

The two companies will provide taxpayers with options to make debit or credit card payments for federal taxes and user fees, according to award notices posted Saturday on SAM.gov.

An IRS ePayment system is envisioned to enable taxpayers to access the contractors’ websites through IRS.gov and include sequential steps to minimize abandonment.

IRS requires the payment process to have a maximum of five steps and show progress through the steps on each web page.

The agency also expects the contractors to provide versions of their websites for mobile devices.
