Private equity firm Vector Capital has completed its purchase of Riverbed Technology for an undisclosed sum and named tech industry veteran Dave Donatelli as CEO of the acquired information technology company.
Dan Smoot, most recently CEO of Riverbed, will continue to support the company during the transition period, Riverbed said Tuesday.
Donatelli previously served as lead independent director at MarkLogic, a portfolio company of Vector focused on providing data management and data integration platforms.
He brings to the role leadership experience at tech companies, including Oracle (NYSE: ORCL), Hewlett-Packard and EMC.
John Theler, former chief financial officer at Riverbed, has rejoined the company as CFO and brings to the role over two decades of experience as a financial professional at several tech businesses.
He held similar positions at MarkLogic and Avetta and started his career at Ernst & Young.
Riverbed provides unified observability and acceleration platforms designed to help public sector organizations advance digital transformation, improve IT security and user experiences, support hybrid workforces and meet other missions.
