Candice Ling Named Microsoft Federal Sector Leader

Candice Ling, vice president of the federal government civilian business at Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) since October 2021, has been appointed as the company’s federal sector leader.

Ling wrote in a LinkedIn post Tuesday that she aims to promote a culture of innovation, collaboration and inclusivity as she oversees the Microsoft Federal organization.

In this new era of government, I want to champion a public-private centered strategy, fostering co-innovation and accelerating time-to-mission. We are also dedicated to and laser-focused on accelerating AI adoption in support of your mission,” she added.

The announcement of her appointment comes one week after a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed Rick Wagner‘s departure from the company after leading its federal organization for the past three years.

Heidi Kobylski, a more than 13-year Microsoft veteran, has succeeded Ling as VP of the federal civilian operating unit.

In 2018, Ling joined Microsoft and held roles of increasing responsibility, including chief operating officer for U.S. regulated industries and the company’s government industry leader in Asia.

She spent nearly two decades at CGI (NYSE: GIB), where she served as a senior VP.
