Tony Gingiss, formerly chief operating officer at Virgin Orbit, has assumed the COO role at satellite manufacturer Terran Orbital (NYSE: LLAP).
He brings to the role more than two decades of production, operations and leadership experience in the defense and aerospace industries, Terran Orbital said Wednesday.
Gingiss previously oversaw day-to-day operations for Virgin Orbit as its COO between 2021 and 2023. Before that, he served as CEO of an Airbus-OneWeb joint venture that develops satellite systems for the latter’s low-Earth orbit constellation.
His more than three-decade industry experience includes nearly 23 years of service at Boeing (NYSE: BA), where he managed satellite and space programs.
The Purdue University graduate served as a fellow of Draper’s guidance, navigation and control group earlier.
