Ellen Lord, Bruce Crawford Named to Comtech Board

Ellen Lord, former undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment at the Department of Defense, and Bruce Crawford, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general, have joined the board of directors of Comtech (Nasdaq: CMTL).

Lord and Crawford bring to Comtech’s board their government and industry experience in the field of capability development, budget, acquisitions, organizational structures and technology deployments, the company said Wednesday.

“As proven thought leaders with a deep understanding of ever-changing technology landscapes, Ellen and Bruce bring unique perspectives to the Board that will be incredibly valuable for Comtech’s transformation as a company as well as our continued innovation and growth trajectories,” said Ken Peterman, president and CEO of Comtech.

During her tenure at DOD, Lord helped transform the acquisition policy and introduced new procedures for cybersecurity, software development and intellectual property. Prior to the Pentagon, she spent more than three decades at Textron (NYSE: TXT) and served as president and CEO of Textron Systems.

Lord, a four-time Wash100 awardee, serves on the boards of AAR (NYSE: AIR), Parsons (NYSE: PSN), LightRidge and Voyager Space and as an adviser to aerospace and defense companies.

Crawford spent 34 years in the Army and served as chief information officer of the military branch. After his retirement, he joined Jacobs (NYSE: J) as senior vice president for strategic development.

He has nearly four decades of leadership experience in enterprise information technology, national security, executive management and cybersecurity.
