Julia MacDonough, a 25-year military and civil space veteran, has joined Draper as vice president and general manager of space systems.
She will lead strategy execution efforts meant to drive growth in one of Draper’s key business areas, the nonprofit research and development company Wednesday.
Her career began in the U.S. Air Force, where she served in various roles such as product engineering team chief and head of the satellite ground processing branch of the National Reconnaissance Office.
MacDonough also gained experience in strategic management consulting as an associate at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH). After almost two years, she became a systems engineer at software company Integrity Applications. She went on to become vice president of business development at MetiSpace Technologies.
MacDonough came to Draper after eight years at BAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary. She was initially director of optical electronic warfare advanced technologies and later a product line director within the FAST Labs research and development group.
