Battelle CEO & GovCon Veteran Lou Von Thaer Accepts 2023 Wash100 Award from Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson

Lou Von Thaer, CEO of nonprofit science and technology company Battelle, was presented with his eighth Wash100 Award by Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic, in a recent meeting at Battelle’s Washington, D.C. facilities.

Garrettson founded the Wash100 in 2014 as a way of celebrating the finest talent in government contracting across the public and private sectors and to advance predictions about who will be the most impactful figures in the industry in the coming year. To whittle down each year’s winners from hundreds into a selective top 100, EM’s voting body assesses candidates based on the following metrics: innovation, reliability, leadership, vision and achievement. It is widely considered one of the highest honors in GovCon.

Von Thaer’s work at the helm of Battelle caught the voting body’s eye yet again this year with contracts such as its position on a 10-year, $10 billion Defense Health Agency medical research and development services award and a $869 million U.S. Army award calling for R&D and engineering support assistance.

Additionally, in 2022, Batelle laid the groundwork for future success with developments such as the standing up of energy and technology coalition ARCH2, an alliance designed to boost hydrogen production, delivery and use in the Appalachian region.

Executive Mosaic extends a thorough congratulations to Von Thaer and his team at Battelle for their 2023 Wash100 Award and expects 2023 to be an even more impressive year for their organization.
